Jan Hice is an artist and businesswoman who photographs and writes intuitively. She first began taking pictures after watching her dad who seemed to always have a camera in his hand. Growing up in Florida inspired her love for nature. She developed a love for travel and languages during her undergraduate and graduate careers at Georgetown University and EMORY University, respectively.

Jan embraced the travel inherent in her role as a sales executive with a global company. Her frequent trips to the Caribbean and Latin America coupled with her vacations allowed her to photograph the diverse locales featured on this site and in her works.

She considers the pursuit of her dream of creating an inspirational photo-book to be one of her most unforgettable trips yet- a journey into her own creativity and passion for photography. The experience came in the midst of a very successful sales career and juggling both was challenging. Jan would be the first to admit that it was all worth it. After spending countless hours developing a manuscript and reviewing images, she saw her ‘dream' book published in 2008.

Soul Work: Excerpts From My Journey and Soul Work 2009 Calendar were both exhibited at the 25th Anniversary Miami Book Fair held November 14th-16th, 2008 in Miami, FL. Jan is currently developing a workshop based on her book experience. The focus is to support others in connecting with their heart's joy. She is also working on a second book. Jan resides in South Florida.

One of the things I love most about photographing nature and travel scenes is the opportunity to explore, experience and share both the ordinary moments that we often overlook and the extraordinary sights we desire to remember. I am astounded by the natural beauty that surrounds us. I feel called to do this work and share it with others. This work is my heart's joy!
